Cleaning products: replace heavy liquids and powders with tablets that you dissolve in your own containers:

Clothes washing: replace heavy liquids and powders with concentrated sheets and tablets.

• Sheets: Ecosnext (www.ecos.com/), plant-based, with enzymes.  1 square = 1 load.  Other cleaning products as well.

Deodorant: replace complex plastic packaging with simple, re-cyclable push up cardboard tubes.  Many types are readily available in Mom’s Organic Market (MOM) and on line.

• Ethique (www.ethique.com)- variety of deodorants and bar soaps.

Soap: replace bottles of shampoo (glass or plastic) with bar soaps.  These are generally available and are frequently sold with no packaging.

Clothing- made from recycled materials

• Rothy’s shoes (www.rothys.com)- recycle marine plastics to thread.

• Three Islands Bathing suit (www.threeislandslifestyle.com)- recycled plastic bottle to thread.

• Eileen Fischer (www.eileenfisher.com)- uses a lot of recycled materials.  Return your worn out clothing for $5/item.

• Repreve made by a company called PureCycle (NASDAQ: PCYO), see https://repreve.com/ is recycled fiber and resin from plastic bottles.  This is currently used for things like clothing linings by a variety of manufactures listed on the Repreve website.
