The Sacrament of Baptism is a gift of God for the people of God. In our tradition and practice, the Session must authorize the celebration of the sacrament (W-2.3011). Additionally, church law directs that in the matter of infant baptism, at least one of the parents/guardians must be an active member of this congregation.
Exceptions to this directive may be made in specific circumstances; however, the requirement that at least one parent/guardian be an active member of another Christian Church remains (W-2.3014). If you have any questions about the requirements for baptism set forth in the “Directory of Worship” please speak with one of the pastors.
In order to respond to a request to celebrate the sacrament of baptism, please complete the following form and it will be submitted to the church office. It will then be forwarded to the Worship & Music Committee which will make a recommendation to Session. You will be notified as soon as the Session takes action on this request.
